Terms of use

Here you can read what djbasen is, what you may do, and what you are responsible for when you use the site or create a DJ profile.

About djbasen

djbasen.dk ("djbasen", "we") is run by DJBasen ApS, CVR no. 40769994, Agern Allé 24, 2970 Hørsholm, Denmark.

djbasen is a free directory of DJs in Denmark. Visitors can search for DJs and view their profiles without creating an account. DJs can create a public profile that they can share with their clients.

These terms are an agreement between us and you, if you have an account. You accept them when you create the account. The rules on what you must not do, on reporting a profile and on our liability apply to everyone who uses djbasen, as far as the law allows. You can read how we process your information in the privacy policy.

This is a translation. If it differs from the Danish version, the Danish version applies.

djbasen doesn't arrange deals

There is no booking or payment through djbasen. When you find a DJ, you contact the DJ directly. An agreement to play at your event is made only between you and the DJ, and djbasen is not a party to it. You agree on price, payment, cancellation and any complaints yourselves.

The prices on the profiles are guide prices and are the DJ's own information. They are not an offer. If the DJ is registered for VAT, the price includes VAT. You agree on the final price with the DJ.

Your account

  • You create an account with a sign-in link by email or with your Google account. There is no password.
  • You must be 18 or older to create an account. When you accept these terms, you confirm that you are. If you have given false information about your age, we close the account.
  • You can have one DJ profile per account.
  • Use an email address that you have access to yourself, and protect access to your email and your Google account. If you suspect that someone else has access to your account, write to us.

Your DJ profile

  • Your profile is published as soon as the required information is filled in. We don't review it beforehand.
  • Once the profile is published, it is public. Anyone can see it, it can be found in search and in search engines such as Google, and it can be shared.
  • Your phone number, your email and your WhatsApp number are only shown if you switch them on, and only when a visitor clicks.
  • You can edit the profile at any time. You can also unpublish it, hide it or delete it. A change that takes a published profile below the minimum requirements can't be saved. Unpublish the profile first.
  • We show information from published profiles on djbasen, for example in search results and on pages such as "Wedding DJ in Copenhagen", and in previews when a link to the profile is shared.
  • We may give a profile the "Verified" badge. It means that we have checked that the person exists and works as a DJ, for example that the DJ's Instagram or website matches the profile. We don't check the quality of the DJ's services or the prices, and we can remove the badge again.

Your responsibility for content

You are responsible for everything you put on your profile: text, photos, links, videos, mixes, prices and contact details.

  • The information must be true and up to date. This applies, for example, to stage name, city, experience, genres and prices.
  • If you show a price, it must be the total price the client pays for a typical event, including VAT if you are registered for VAT.
  • If you quote reviews or testimonials from clients in your description, they must be genuine. We don't check whether they come from real clients.
  • You may only upload photos you have the rights to. If other people appear in the photos, they must have agreed to the photos being used.
  • You may only link to videos and mixes that you have uploaded yourself or have the right to share. The rights to the music in your mixes are a matter between you, the service the mix is on, and the rights holders.
  • The contact details must be your own or your business's.

You still own your content. You give us a free, non-exclusive right to store, show and adapt it (for example crop and resize photos) on djbasen and in previews when a link to your profile is shared. The right ends when you delete the content or your account. Copies in our backups are deleted when the backups expire.

Marketing

We only use your content to market djbasen if you have given your consent, and only on djbasen's own social media, Instagram and Facebook.

If your profile is verified, you can be welcomed with a post. Under "Promotion" on your page you see exactly the post we would publish: an image with your stage name, your city, your genres and your profile URL, made from a photo you choose from your profile, and a text we write from your profile. We only publish it if you tick the box and approve it, and we tag or mention no one in the post, not you either. When you approve, you confirm that the photo shows only you, or that the others in it have said yes.

Until the post is published, you can withdraw it under "Promotion". Once it's published, you can ask for it to be removed in the same place, and if you delete your profile we take that as a request to remove it. We remove it within 7 days. We don't use your content in other posts without asking you first.

Your data

  • What you give us: your account details and everything you put on your profile. What you publish can be seen by anyone, and your contact details are only shown when a visitor clicks.
  • What comes from using the profile: views, views in search, clicks and where visitors came from. You see the totals per day in your dashboard, but never who visited or reported your profile. Clients contact you directly and give djbasen no information about themselves.
  • Who has access: djbasen has access to all the information to run and moderate the site. We don't share it with other DJs and don't sell it. Our processors, Cloudflare and Resend, only process it on our instructions, and Meta gets content from your profile if you have consented to marketing.
  • Your access: you can download all your information and your statistics as a file under "Account" at any time, also while we close your account with notice.

More about how we process the information is in the privacy policy.

What you must not do

You must not use djbasen to:

  • post illegal content
  • create fake profiles or pretend to be another DJ, person or business
  • send spam or post content that isn't about you as a DJ
  • post offensive, threatening, discriminatory or hateful content, or sexual or violent content
  • share other people's personal data without permission, for example photos of guests who haven't agreed
  • infringe other people's copyright, trademarks or other rights
  • give misleading information, for example prices you won't stand by, or reviews and quotes that aren't genuine
  • copy profiles or contact details automatically (scraping) or use them for marketing
  • get around our security, bot protection or limits, or put unnecessary load on the site
  • create a new account to get around a suspension or a closure

Report a profile

Anyone can report a profile with the "Report profile" button. You choose a reason: fake profile, spam, pretending to be someone else, inappropriate content or other, and describe what is wrong.

If you are reporting illegal content, write in the description which content it is (for example which photo or which text), and why you think it is illegal. You can also write to hej@djbasen.dk with the link to the profile, your explanation, your name and your email, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information is correct.

You get a receipt by email. People at djbasen review every report carefully and objectively, without automated systems. When we have made a decision, we tell you about it and how you can complain.

If someone repeatedly reports profiles without any reason, we may stop processing their reports for a period.

Moderation, suspension and closure

People at djbasen handle moderation. We don't use automated systems to remove content or suspend profiles. We don't review profiles before they are published, but we look through new profiles at random and handle every report.

If you break these terms or the law, or if we receive several valid reports about your profile, we can do three things:

  • Remove content. We can remove a photo, a video, a mix, a link or a text that breaks the rules. The rest of the profile stays visible.
  • Suspend the profile. A suspended profile is not public and doesn't appear in search. You can still sign in and edit it, but you can't publish it again yourself. The suspension applies from the moment we notify you.
  • Close your account. We notify you by email at least 30 days before the account is closed, and you can sign in and download your data until it is closed. If the closure is due to a breach, we suspend the profile at once while the notice runs. We only close the account without notice if the law requires it, or if you have repeatedly broken these terms.

We don't close profiles or accounts for other reasons. If we close djbasen as a whole, the section "Free to use" applies.

You always get a statement of reasons by email, at the latest when the decision takes effect. It tells you what we have done and why, which rule in these terms or which law it is based on, whether it followed a report, and how you can complain.

When we suspend a profile or close an account, we keep a one-way code (hash) of your email address for 12 months, so that the same email can't be used for a new account during that period.

Only we can lift a suspension. If you have fixed what we wrote to you about, reply to the email. We review the profile again within 3 working days.

Complaining about a decision

If you disagree with a decision about your profile, or with our not acting on your report, you can complain to hej@djbasen.dk within 6 months. Where possible, someone other than the person who made the decision reviews the case, and you get a reasoned reply. You can also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under DSA Article 21 or go to court.

The order of search results

Search results are sorted by "Best match" unless you choose "Nearest". We only show published profiles that match your filters, and if you search for a place, only DJs who travel there.

For "Best match", each profile gets a total score from five things, which carry different weight:

  • How complete the profile is: 35%. For example photos, description, genres, price and links.
  • The genre: 25%, when you search for a genre. Full weight if it is the DJ's top-priority genre, and less for each place further down the DJ's list.
  • How recently the DJ has updated the profile: 20%. Full weight if the profile was edited or published within 7 days, and no weight after 90 days.
  • The distance: 15%, when you search for a place. The closer the DJ is to the place relative to how far the DJ travels, the more weight.
  • Chance: 5%. So that it isn't always the same DJs at the top. It changes every day.

If you don't search for a genre or a place, those don't count, and the other things decide the order. With "Nearest", the nearest DJ comes first, and "Best match" decides between DJs at the same distance. The home page also shows the newest DJs, sorted by when they were published.

Nobody can pay for a better position.

Free to use

It is free to search on djbasen and to have a DJ profile. If we introduce paid features later, they will be optional and have their own terms.

We can change, add or remove features. If we close djbasen, we notify DJs by email at least 30 days in advance.

Liability

  • We do our best to keep djbasen working, but we can't promise that the site is always available or free of errors.
  • The information on the profiles comes from the DJs themselves. We don't check it and are not responsible for it, for the DJs' services or for agreements between you and a DJ.
  • We are not responsible for content on other services that we link to or show, for example videos and mixes.
  • We are not liable for indirect losses, for example lost bookings, lost revenue or lost data.
  • These limitations don't apply if we have acted intentionally or with gross negligence, or if mandatory law, for example consumer law, says otherwise.

If you want to stop

You can delete your account at any time under "Account". If you want to keep your data, you can download it as a file in the same place before you delete the account.

When you delete your account, your profile disappears from djbasen at once. Your email, your name and your picture are removed from the account straight away, and the profile's tagline, description, contact details, links and photos are deleted straight away. The rest, such as stage name, profile URL, city, genres and statistics, is deleted after 30 days. We keep a few pieces of information longer when it is necessary to document our decisions or to prevent repeated abuse: a one-way code (hash) of your email for 12 months if we suspended your profile or closed your account, and our moderation log for 3 years. What we keep and for how long is in the privacy policy.

When we can close your profile or account is described under "Moderation, suspension and closure".

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we notify DJs who have an account by email at least 15 days before the changes take effect, and longer if you need to adapt your profile to them. The email says what changes and when. If you don't want to continue on the new terms, you can delete your account before they take effect.

The notice doesn't apply if the law requires us to change the terms sooner, or if we must protect djbasen, DJs or visitors against fraud, malware, spam, data breaches or another urgent security risk.

The new terms get a new date and a new version number at the top of the page. For larger changes, we also ask you to accept them the next time you sign in.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are settled by the Danish courts. If you are a consumer, you always have the rights that mandatory law gives you, and you can bring a case in the court where you live.
