Cookies

Here you can see what we store in your browser, what needs your consent, and how to change your choice.

In short

  • Without your consent we only use what the site needs to work: cookies when you sign in, and a cookie that remembers your choice. The first time you visit djbasen, we ask you.
  • If you say yes to statistics, we count your visit with Umami on our own server. If you say yes to videos and music, YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, SoundCloud, Mixcloud and Spotify may set their own cookies when you play something.
  • You can always change your choice under "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.

The cookies we set

The cookies are set by djbasen.dk and only sent to djbasen.dk. The two sign-in cookies can't be read by JavaScript on the page. None of them needs consent, because they are needed for what you ask for yourself.

__Secure-djbasen.session_token

What it doesKeeps you signed in. It's set when you sign in and deleted when you sign out.
How long30 days. It is extended at most once a day while you use djbasen.

__Secure-djbasen.state

What it doesMakes sure it's you who comes back from Google when you sign in with Google. It's set when you tap "Continue with Google".
How long5 minutes. It's deleted when you're back from Google.
What it doesRemembers your answer about statistics and videos and music, so we don't ask every time. It only holds your answer and the date, no information about you.
How long12 months. Then we ask again.

Other things stored in your browser

The cookie rules also cover other information a site stores in or reads from your browser:

  • When you sign out, the page writes a short message (better-auth.message) to the browser's localStorage, so other djbasen tabs sign out too. The message stays until you sign out again or clear your browser.
  • When we have released a new version while you have the page open, the page may have to reload itself. The tab then remembers in its sessionStorage which page was reloaded (nuxt:reload), so it only happens once, and the page's content until the reload is done (nuxt:reload:state). All of it is gone when you close the tab.
  • The visitor statistics (Umami) only load if you have said yes to statistics. They store nothing in your browser, but read your screen size and your browser's language and send them to our own server together with the page you are viewing. They also check whether localStorage holds a marker saying the browser shouldn't be counted (umami.disabled).

Cookies from others

Videos and mixes from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, SoundCloud, Mixcloud and Spotify only load if you have said yes to videos and music, and only when you click them. The service can then set its own cookies under its own rules. YouTube videos play from youtube-nocookie.com.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots when you sign in or report a profile. Turnstile sets no cookies, but reads information about your browser and sends it to Cloudflare. This is needed to protect sign-in and reports from abuse, so it doesn't require consent.

Our fonts are hosted by us, so your browser fetches nothing from, for example, Google Fonts.

The test site

Our test site, staging.djbasen.dk, is only open to people who work on djbasen. It is protected by Cloudflare Access, which sets the cookies CF_Authorization and CF_AppSession when you sign in to the test site. They expire with the Access session, after 24 hours by default. They are not used on djbasen.dk.
